Alaska, USA '90 Airline miles are about to expire, how flexible are you? Requested Maine and accepted offer of Alaska. This was just a sample of Alaska as we only had one week. The wild animals can be hard to see or come right up to you, so we said: "It is not a zoo." The snow cap of Mount Denali can be seen from 90 miles if there are no clouds. You can ride the ski lift up to the top at Alyesky Ski Resort for the great view. The trip was expensive. We recommend the boat ride to the Kenai Fjords to see glaciers. We road a ski lift to the top of a mountain. This made us want to return. | ||

| Australia was special because of friends I made on the Compuserve Travsig Forum. One member took my teacher wife to visit her daughter's school. Another meet us for drinks in Sydney. Another picked us up at the Brisbane's airport and took us to visit a near by rainforest. All made recommendations that made our trip special. We stayed at some camp grounds like the Australians, low cost and great locations. In Australia, many camp grounds have some cabins without bedding. We dove at the Great Barrier Reef. We recommend an Ecological Resort on Fraser Island. We visited the outback in Kakadu. We ate fresh fruit at the farms. We got to visit Steve Irwin's Alligator reserve. We saw many different birds coming into a billabong and watched Penguins coming in to nest at night. It is a fun country to visit. | |||
